Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary 2010


The deadline for applications is Monday 4th October 2010

Artists are required to enter online and complete the online Application Form and submit it with:
Images
Images of 3 artworks. Images must not be larger than 500kb each. All submitted artworks must be available for the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition (11– 21 November 2010 ) and to be delivered to the Mall Galleries on 4 November 2010 .
Statement
Artists are required to give a written explanation (max 500 words) of:
• The role of drawing in their current practice
• How they would propose to use the bursary
• The anticipated benefits of receiving the bursary
CV
Artists are also required to submit a short CV (max 1 page A4) with their application.

The DE Bursary was first awarded in 2002. It is an annual award, which, since 2005 has been awarded for drawing. Following an open submission call for entries, the educational advisory board, whose members are currently Tom Coates, James Lloyd, Nicholas Usherwood and Anita Klein, choose up to 6 short-listed artists who are invited to exhibit a selection of their works at the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in November. The winner is selected by the Educational Board and announced at the artists' Private View on the first Thursday of the exhibition.
