Blind Artist Lisa Fittipaldi

Look at colorful paintings of Lisa Fittipaldi, no one can believe that she is blind. She started painting in 1995 but her vision was constantly dropping down and after two years she was completely blind. Its simply beyond imagination that in a short period of two years, she integrate herself with this new phase of life full of darkness. First, she started painting utilizing her past memories, which worked for her imaginary nourishment. In normal circumstance, brain needs, visualization and if it stops, things will fade away. After becoming blind, to keep her inner world alive, she started listening audio tapes, traveled with her husband to visit the museums around the world. For tackling hurdle of blindness, she experiments on different mediums.

Ather Jamal

A Tribute to my most favorite Teacher

“Every artist has his favorite medium. I feel that I can express myself with ease through water colors even though it’s a difficult medium in more ways than one”, says Ather Jamal, in an interview.

Back to late 80’s, at my first day of Art Institute, I saw a dark, handsome man with spectacles and moustache; I came to know later that he is teacher of Design department. After many days I saw my class mates were gathered around him and he was giving them tips to improve their Fine Art. Amazing! Being a new comer I found this very interesting…That is my dearest teacher Sir Ather Jamal, My inspiration and my ideal who guided me four years and showed thousands of students the way. The way I followed when I started my teaching career, Sir Ather never say no to his students, we totally mesmerized when his artistic hands were dancing on paper with various medias. He can create any colorful image in few minutes. I still wish I can be a great artist like him. Oh I just wish…

Embroidery in Pakistan

Embroidery is the process by which a design is stitched at a garment with the help of computerized embroidery machine. The process will produce a fine and long lasting appearance and is suitable for text or logos. First logo is drawn manually in a way which can be read by the embroidery machine. This transformation process is called digitization. Plain text in simple fonts is easier and therefore cheaper to convert than embroidered logos.

Art

It's all Arts around you...

After learning a bit about Art, I came to know that maybe you always count yourself as not Art lover kind! But the thing is you don't explore Art, Art explores you...wherever you go, whatever you see, but you cannot spaced out yourself from Art! It is everywhere...starting your own looks, your skin, features of face your appearance your hair color, isn't it Art? The clothes you are wearing the vivid and jaunty (or even dull) colors around you having different shapes, textures, mass and other interesting elements its all Arts around you. Though colors can't speak ,but the selection of colors through any media can express what exactly you want to communicate to your viewers. And communicating via any media with having any typical style by carrying any massage is no doubt The Art!

Sketching Tutorial 1

The Pencil First!

Mostly pencil drawing has always a preference as starting the Sketching. There are many pencils are available in good stationary outlets. You better start purchasing by whole range. I have a tendency to use 3 main grades of graphite;

F (fine and hard) to stimulate the basis of the subject,

2B (black, soft), to begin shading no matter in detail or not

Innocent Prisoners

Allover the Pakistan, hundreds of children are locked inside police cells or tacky jails, victims of a justice system and getting treatment as the same as adults. The question mark is for the every one that’s why these “Innocent Prisoners” treat and sometimes abused like that. I don’t have the answer…do you have?

Art

Every body talk about Art, Art is this Art is that...History of Art, the Elements, the old Masters blah blah blah but since I was only two, I started my very first linear drawing by making human faces, and to me Art is what your heart says, your mind guides and your inner vision shows and your hands obeys...
As because I always liked human faces, I still enjoy to make Eye based designs and Images because;

Your eyes are like windows,

The windows in that you can travel through them and see in any one's soul...
From your own inner eye,
Exploring and knowing,
Understanding the efforts and pain,
Also some hidden part of the personality.
Being an Art teacher and writer now I took Art as complete madness, artists are mostly trying to prove something to world by communicating through the oldest source of communication that is Art.
When I was a beginner in Art school, most of the time I felt how can I take out all the imaginations and visions inside me? In beginning mostly student get depressed because they have no control on what they want to execute. What they are watching other good students, their teachers and rest of the world is doing but they can't. This situation sometimes get them in depression and they start to thinking about quit. But if we all quit who will artists of new era?
